Hello lovely Shero community! This is just a quick post to let you know that I am helping to spearhead a fundraiser for local Washington, D.C. families who will be hit hard by impending school closures and who might need to stay home from work. A lot of folks in the D.C. area are already struggling and this COVID-19 epidemic will impact them significantly.
I am working with the fabulous Charlotte Clymer, who is a fundraising genius, in partnership with the Capitol Area Food Bank, who provides a lot of inventory to the other major D.C. area food banks. Although D.C.P.S. intends to keep serving meals to children at select locations, this won’t cover everyone and we need to reinforce our food bank supplies for the coming weeks.
Please consider a donation now and also forward this link on to anyone you think might be interested in joining our cause. This Shero community never ceases to amaze me with your generosity and your concern for others — I am so grateful for you. Stay safe out there and let’s feed some people!

FUNDRAISING RESULT: We did it! As of 7:43 pm ET, we have raised $30, 576. We pulled in $25,576.00 on the GoFundMe cite and Charlotte got a message with a screen grab of a $5,000 direct donation to the Capitol Area Food Bank. I’m overwhelmed by all of your generosity and support-thank you everyone. If you want to continue to donate you can still do so here.
