Folderol Season!
The perfect little playlist to invite the Spring Season to visit so you can have a frolicking good time with your best friend.
Your paid subscriptions and one-time tributes to SHERO allow me to continue publishing on critical issues, (as well as lighthearted fare like this post) and provide information to the public, so please consider purchasing one today. If you would like to make a one-time tribute via PayPal, you can click this link now for that option. As always, thank you for taking the time to read and support my work here at SHERO and for helping to provide independent journalism for everyone.
I appreciate you.
Welcome to Spring — you’ve earned it! The cherry blossoms are all abloom here in Washington, DC, and in anticipation of my best friend’s annual Spring visit, I have made a playlist to celebrate the burgeoning season with a hopeful and buoyant vibe.
Spring is not typically one of my favorite seasons, but for some reason, I am really anticipating the soft, warm feeling of impending growth this year. I also learned a new word: “folderol.” I had never heard this word before and finding a new term to explain “nonsensical fuss” felt like the perfect compliment to the warming weather, so I decided to make it a theme.
I am inviting you to join me at the DC Cherry Blossom Festival, even if only in spirit, and celebrate all of the things that are yet to come. I am sending you the same wishes I have for myself and for those I love — to find fresh health and happiness flowering in your garden this Spring. You can download my Folderol Season playlist from iTunes here and Spotify here.
Please join me as we raise our open hands in the air and shout with joy: Folderol!
Love,
Amee💋
UPDATE: I would also like to add that this playlist pairs PERFECTLY with an indictment.
Amee Vanderpool writes the SHERO Newsletter and is an attorney, published author, contributor to newspapers and magazines, and analyst for BBC radio. She can be reached at avanderpool@gmail.com or follow her on Twitter @girlsreallyrule.
I only ever heard the word as part of a phrase: “bolderdash and folderol!” https://thesaurus.plus/related/balderdash/folderol (Think British accent.)
Love, love, love this playlist! After seeing these songs I feel like we’re kindred spirits. Thank you for sharing!
