Happy Thanksgiving, Turkeys!

In case anyone is in doubt with this headline, I am using the term “turkey” with love and to show endearment.

Okay, I’m calling it. I would officially like to announce that the Thanksgiving holiday has begun! If you are stuck at work or working too hard, I would like for you to consider knocking off early to get some much-needed rest and to enjoy your loved ones. If you need a doctor’s note, you can email me for one and we can try it — I technically have a doctorate…

In all seriousness, I wanted to take a moment to tell you what you mean to me and let you know that what I am most thankful for this year is your ongoing and overwhelming support. I think about it all the time, and it has actually kept me going during the harder times this year. Thank you for just being here, for making me feel seen, and for trusting me with your time and your information.

In case you need another reminder, please try to get some rest this week. I don’t know the particulars of everyone’s schedules, but I do know that people are tired from all of the struggles and losses of this year. If you find yourself doing too much or stressing out over a meal or get-together, I hope you will hear me remind you that you are valuable and you need to relax.

Here are some pumpkin pies I made a few years ago…why I didn’t photograph them AFTER they were cooked is beyond me.

I also wanted you to know about a new, exciting adventure that is on the horizon! I have a fantastic opportunity to expand SHERO through a podcast every week on a new platform named “Callin.” They have taken a chance on me and seem to think that people will want to hear what I have to say, and I am honored and a little stunned. I am really impressed with the team they have assigned to me to grow the podcast (fantastic women who are so accomplished) and the best part of this new podcast is that it will be free to all users.

I am hoping to use the podcast format to have more in-depth discussions about a lot of the things we discuss here — such as the law and politics — and my goal will continue to be empowerment for everyone. I have also been told that Callin has a great feature where I can open up phone lines to take calls and include you in the discussion — I am most excited about that.

SHERO is growing and that is because of you and your generous support. Thank you for helping my dream to come true and for taking this ride with me. Have a wonderful holiday and try to relax. Remember to ping-pong a glass of water with every glass of wine, and if you start drinking early, you need to start eating something early. The Sunday Recap will return next week when the SHERO team resumes a regular schedule leading up to the next holiday. See you soon!
