Hard Time (Playlist)
...for those experiencing the human condition, but still wanting to appear fabulous.
Good morning, happy Friday, welcome to your weekend and all that other happy trash. “Happy trash” is a phrase my Dad would always use when he was feeling especially dry and sarcastic and it feels quite fitting today. Just to give you a quick update, I expect my Twitter account to be back up and running in a few more days. I will not be posting the Sunday recap this week, but SHERO will be back in full force by Monday, with a fresh new “take no prisoners” attitude.
As a thank you to everyone, here is Hard Time, a playlist for the humanly challenged that will see you through to another day. You can listen to it on Spotify here, or on Apple iTunes here.
You have no idea how much I appreciate all of the emails and calls and tweets and comments — thank you for keeping me going this week with your kindness. I’ve also been noticing that many of you are going through it as well-so it feels like the perfect time for a playlist to push us all through. I would also appreciate it if you Twitter folk would send this out all over social media, as I am unable to…sniff, sniff.
I have spoken with a Copyright attorney (Hamish Mackenzie at Substack, you are a prince among men) and I am confident that this will all resolve and everything will be fine. I have also been reassured that this type of violation occurs quite often and can happen to anyone, despite their diligence in following Twitter’s rules. There is likely a legal exception for my use of the content, but no one can really tell because Twitter has removed it and I honestly have no clue what the video was. I’m going to laugh my way out of this if it kills me — either that or cut my bangs (click that link and see 6:40 minutes in), I’ll let you know.
Thank you, Mike Wolfe. Thank you to the usual suspects that I am considering naming my “crisis management” team moving forward: Bridget, Liz and Janna. A special thank you to my best friend, Dan, who reminded me of the healing powers of Roxette and how I used to make him play the first song on this playlist over and over for a year. You knew exactly how to cheer me up when you sent it to me, and you have basically inspired this playlist, so thank you, Butter.
I’m pretty worn out from the behind the scenes work this week and all of the emotions that accompanied my unfortunate Twitter incarceration and kind of pissed that I have so little to show for it. It has been a good and very necessary reminder that when you don’t listen or rest enough, the universe has a way of making things happen for you. So it might be a good time to reflect and take a breath. See you Monday-I can’t wait.
Again you can find the playlist and listen to it on Spotify here, or on Apple iTunes here.
Much love,
Amee

Great song selection! Looking forward to your return as one of Twitter's "essential workers."
Hey Amee we will self medicate till you return to Twitter and think cutting bangs would be going to extremes maybe 🤔
