There were nine separate mass shooting incidents in the United States this past week, where nine people were killed and 30 were injured. • Price hikes slowed more than expected in July, and, for the first time in more than three years, the Consumer Price Index, which charts inflation, has landed below three percent.

• This week, three major news outlets published information concerning Trump Campaign documents they were given weeks ago, including the vetting materials for JD Vance, but unlike their approach to the Hillary Clinton Campaign in 2016, they are now choosing to protect Donald Trump.

• Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump attempted to spread false claims this week that an image of thousands of people waiting at Detroit’s airport as Democrat Kamala Harris arrived for a campaign rally was fabricated with the help of artificial intelligence. Reporters, photographers and video journalists representing The Associated Press documented the crowd size, and denied the photo in question was manipulated.

• Ukraine’s top military commander confirmed this week that his forces now control 1,000 square kilometers (386 square miles) of Russia’s neighboring Kursk region. This is the first time a Ukrainian military official has publicly commented on the gains.

• Despite Trump’s numerous attempts to disavow any knowledge of Project 2025, The nonprofit, Centre for Climate Reporting, published a video of a meeting last month with key Project 2025 author Russell Vought, one of the top members of the MAGA movement, who’s been floated as a possible White House Chief of Staff.
