Three Key Democratic Races You Can Help
The Midterm Election is less than a month away and there are some very close races for control of the House of Representatives, the Senate, and for state-level offices that are pivotal to Democrats. I will be highlighting three of those races today, with more to come in the next few weeks leading up to the election, to help funnel your smaller donations to these candidates who really need them. I will also be promoting campaigns that need your help on my Twitter feed here, so be sure to check in with that as well.
I will provide direct donation links for all of the candidates I am highlighting below. The key to making this successful is to:
1.) forward this article to everyone you know via social media and/or email
2.) make a small donation to each candidate
3.) volunteer to help the campaign via the link provided
4.) volunteer to phone bank for Democrats leading up to the election
For example, I will be donating $2 to each candidate mentioned in this article and sending this out via social media and email to my friends and family. Make a small donation and pass the article along so that more people can participate.
Catherine Cortez Masto - Nevada
One of the tightest Senate races in the country has drawn even tighter in the final weeks of the midterm election season, with Republican Adam Laxalt now polling even with Democratic Catherine Cortez Masto in Nevada — a race that is one of the GOP’s best shots at flipping a Democratic-held seat.
According to a poll conducted this week by the conservative Club for Growth, Laxalt has inched ahead of Cortez Masto by 2 percentage points, within the poll’s margin of error, which is a gain from a month ago when he was down 3 percentage points. A CBS poll released Thursday also found Laxalt up by 1 percentage point.

Elissa Slotkin - Michigan
Democrat Elissa Slotkin is running for a third Congressional term in office in a district in Michigan that has traditionally put her at a slimmer margin of success over her Republican challenger, Tom Barrett. That, however, was prior to the state’s Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission adopting new boundary lines for state and federal office in 2021.
Polling published by Politico in June indicated that Barrett was poised to flip the district back red with the help of a slim margin of undecided or independent voters leaning in his favor. More recent data suggests that lead is now nowhere near what it was in the summer, with the polling website FiveThirtyEight putting Slotkin as winning the contest 75 times out of 100. The Cook Political Report has the Seventh District in a toss-up as of Sept. 6, 2022, meaning that even with a small lead, Slotkin, can expect a tough fight on Nov 8.

Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Arizona
Michigan Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s lead over her Republican challenger, Tudor Dixon in the state’s gubernatorial race has narrowed according to a new Cygnal poll. Whitmer is now leading Dixon by only 5 points, or by 49 to 44 percent. Independents in Michigan are evenly split between the candidates, with 43 percent supporting each. Some polls have shown Whitmer with a larger lead, some by double digits, but a CBS News-YouGov poll from earlier this month found her lead to only be at 6 points. You can donate to Gretchen Whitmer’s Gubernatorial Campaign here and you can volunteer to help the Whitmer Campaign here.
In Pennsylvania, state Senator Doug Mastriano — who was a key Trump ally in the scheme to block Biden’s 2020 win — is now vying for an office that, unlike certain states, has the special power to name the secretary of state. Josh Shapiro, the Democratic candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania, attended a Jewish day school as a kid, and this week his Republican opponent made that the focus of the campaign. This gubernatorial seat will be critical in maintaining a fair election in 2024. You can donate to Josh Shapiro’s Gubernatorial Campaign here and you can volunteer to help the Shapiro Campaign here.
While Governor of Arizona is a state race that will not determine who controls the majority in Congress this November, this race is pivotal in that it will establish who will oversee the process of counting the electoral votes in a swing state for the presidency in 2024. Arizona was a state where Trump’s false election rhetoric was effective and for this reason, You can donate to Katie Hobbs’ Gubernatorial Campaign here and you can volunteer to help the Hobbs Campaign here.
