Gun Violence This Week

Weeks before the 2020 Presidential Election, Republican operative and close Donald Trump ally Roger Stone reportedly told an associate that in order to intimidate Democratic Members of Congress, that either Democratic Representatives Eric Swalwell (D-CA) or Jerry Nadler (D-NY) “ha[d] to die before the election.”
As part of an Inflation Reduction Act initiative, the Internal Revenue Service has collected more than $500 million from 900 millionaires who had previously refused to pay their taxes.
A record 6,737 guns were discovered at airport security checkpoints in 2023, and of those weapons about 93% were loaded. This was the third consecutive year that a record was set on gun collection at these locations.
