Gun Violence

There were 13 separate mass shooting incidents in the US last week, where three people were killed and 58 were injured. I document all mass shooting incidents for the week every Sunday, so please take a moment to review them and remember to keep up the fight for sensible gun reform.

• A review of US Justice Department court filings shows a growing number of Jan. 6 defendants have been arrested again, for subsequent crimes involving guns, drugs and domestic abuse.

  The Select Committee has uncovered evidence that at "Stop the Steal" protests at state Capitols across the country, there were individuals with ties to the groups or parties involved in the January 6th attack on the US Capitol.

• Donald Trump's chief fundraising vehicle, Save America PAC, is under new legal scrutiny after the Justice Department issued a round of grand jury subpoenas that sought information about the political action committee’s fundraising practices.

• John Durham, the attorney who was assigned by the Trump Justice Department in 2019 to examine the origins of the investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign’s ties to Russia, has wrapped up his three-year inquiry with no results.

• Charles McGonigal, a former high-level FBI agent who was involved in the investigation into the Trump campaign's contacts with Russia during the 2016 election, has come under scrutiny by federal prosecutors for his ties with Russia and other foreign governments.
