This is absolutely horrific--It's the kind of sh-t that the Nazis did. And the reaction of most Americans? A collective yawn. We really do suck as a country right now.

With this administration* (what irony to call it that), we've learned that where there's smoke, there's fire. They probably hired docs with shitty reputations because they came cheap, hated immigrants, and had hidden agendas. ICE hates immigrants. We know. They know it. Eliminating ICE should be among the top 10 items of any Biden presidency.

Dear Ms. Vanderpool, I am absolutely enraged by this report that I’ve itemized below. It reminded me of Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee‘s encyclopedic novel “The Gene: An Intimate History” because he described the real life horrors of Nazi Germany, where Dr. Josef Mengele as Auschwitz Concentration Camp doctor utilized the concentration camp system to initialize his torturous, demented twin experiments. I would encourage your subscribers to check out this book because it is well written.

First point of revulsion is that these detained refugees are being exposed to workers in unsanitary COVI-19 positive detention centers. Under this administration, we safely assume that our own government will take advantage of language barriers as a way to trick detained refugees and unilaterally sterilize them (ie. allowing detention center doctors legal recourse to remove refugees’ uteruses).

Second, I am also am completely enraged into knowing that this administration actively sponsored, tacitly approved mass sterilization of refuge women in unsafe environmentally hazardous detention camps.

Third, These sterilization procedures were not explained to the refugee women, and they were never explained their rights. We as a nation need to know to advocate for our own healthcare and we need to step forward and advocate for those who are compromised in understanding their own healthcare rights, specifically detained refugees.

In my opinion, there is nothing short of a sinister subversive culture of obfuscation and coercive sterilization under the vague cover of Dept. of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This certainly requires external review of these departments’ policies and procedures as well as mandatory expungements of any doctors’ practices involving gynecological procedures.

There is no bar too low from which to dehumanize refugees under the guise of law and order against people of color, and for our government under this administration’s perverse power to abuse our government‘s levers of power to sterilize detained and incarcerated human beings (specifically people of colors’ bodies and abuse of their inalienable rights). It is yet another example of cruel, unusual punishment wielded by own government‘s current federal administration against people of color.

JFC. Amee, do you know of any instances of this happening in other detention centers, namely those at the border here in Arizona? I wouldn't be surprised if this is happening everywhere. And, since many of these are privately owned and operated, perhaps they are getting money for these surgeries so they are performing them even if they are not needed.
