In response to the drastic increase of challenges from the right against controversial books, often involving important themes of race, gender and sexuality, let's read some banned books!
My 6th grade teacher read this to our class back in ‘67. Awesome teacher and fav book. Plan on reading some of the banned list to my grandkids. Always a subversive to the establishment.
Love this book! I taught it in my Freshmen English class for years! It makes so much more sense when you understand its connections to the Russian Revolution. Every year I taught it, I noticed something new. It will be interesting to read it again after 10 years and the changes that have taken place in the world since then. Good choice!
