An ominous tweet from Senator Whitehouse yesterday read: “The Supreme Court will be releasing opinions on an extra day this week – Thursday AND Friday. Brace yourselves.” When you combine this new information with the fact that the US Senate intends to go on recess for the July 4 holiday after the vote on gun control this morning, the plan seems fairly clear.
Today, the Supreme Court overturned the NY gun law, so we will see exactly what this country DOESN'T need, which is to say, MORE GUNS in public places. Why, what could possibly go wrong?????????
Yes, I agree that the Dobbs decision will come down tomorrow. The Orange Asscactus promised the evangelicals when he was seeking their support that he would appoint justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade. He delivered on this promise, with the connivance of the Evil Turtle, Mitch McConnell.
Maybe it's my frustration and anger talking, but I no longer believe in the future of this country. I am done with the regressive, religious, gun-worshipping nuts and their telling me how I can and should live my life. Go live in your own country, and get the hell out of mine. Maybe it is time for blue states and red states to go their separate ways? Texas Republicans already want to do that and let me be the first to say, "SEE YA".

It's a horrible time to live in these here Dis-United States. I am both appalled and defeated by the extremist right-wing takeover of the courts. But my most vehement anger is directed to the Democratic party for sitting by for the last 40 years letting it happen. While we're all disappointed this ruling is coming down and it will be all out red state war on women, make no mistake the Democrats allowed it to happen. Republicans have no interest in governing and Democrats have no interest in leading so here we are. I'm disgusted by the whole mess.
I've been on this spinning rock for a long time and I've never seen this country more "backward" than in this moment in time. We are witnessing a return to the "long winter" when woolly mammoth's and "knuckle draggers" roamed the barren wasteland of ice. A minority of zealots and snake oil salesmen have wrested democracy from the hands of the majority and all we can do is watch.
