It seems unconscionable to me that after ten trillion dollars, (I.e. 10,000 billion dollars, which is beyond carte blanche to me) we have enabled a military spending machine imbedded within our US Capitol halls. At close to $180K baseline, per year for 430 Representatives alone, so many are blatantly neglecting their fiscal purse string power and meaningful responsibilities. They can’t even set their puritanical politics aside with 147 alone petitioning to decertify a fair presidential election last year. It seems like all of them should have to show financial literacy or the ability to balance a budget. At the same time, we as voters should scrutinize those up for re-election for their votes. The paucity of scrupulous behavior amongst US Representatives, especially as it pertains to rubber stamping Pentagon spending cannot be overstated. I am certainly grateful for our own US Representative’s voting record but that certainly isn’t the case with many constituents’ districts. Thank you for being such a sound information sleuth and rekindling this information in our curious ears, @girlsreallyrule.

I would propose we start vetting our lawmakers by ascertaining their knowledge of the framework within which they are supposed to operate in order to promulgate said laws. Let's face it, the current crop seems to be (at least on one side) woefully ignorant of even the very basis for their positions.
