Such a beautiful post, Amee. My dad died of a massive heart attack as we were sitting down to dinner three years ago. I still catch myself having moments where I think "I can't wait to tell Dad..." and then I remember. But it doesn't matter - I tell him anyway. And even though I can't hear his answer, I know he's there, listening to every word. Much like, I suspect, your dad is for you. 💜
Your tribute made me cry, but so did the video of Darth Vader, who reminds me so much of my Dad. He was rarely "loving" or "comforting" - rather, he was demanding. But, he showed his love for his daughters all the time, if you knew how to read the signs. And, his love was unconditional. So, to those like me who don't have a lot of funny stories (ours are all based on my Dad's stubbornness, and our little victories), show your love for your dads. I lost mine more than 11 years ago, and I will miss him forever.
A beautiful tribute, Amee. He would be so proud of you. I can only imagine what Tony Gilroy (I.e. of ‘Andor’, ‘Rogue One’ fame) would write/comment upon with regards to your blog. Dads….we are such a mess aren’t we? You are appreciated in all the content and up to date information you pack into the tidy confines of this blog. Thank you for this reflection, Amee!
You were always his favorite, Cory-like a treasured little niece student that he knew would follow in his footsteps. He loves you very much but more than that, he liked and admired you. 🩷
I am bawling now at your incredible tribute to your day. That last paragraph describes my husband, father of our children, perfectly! Thank you for sharing!
While I am overcome with sadness at the early loss of your father, and jealousy at the incredible response to your post from THE Mark Hamill, I am still heartened to read pieces like this. I'm overjoyed that some people actually had fathers like yours, divorce notwithstanding. <3

I've had Ice T like several of my posts, but you are on another level.

This was a beautiful read, Amee. I got choked up reading it. I miss my dad, too.

Once more you have gone over the top with your cherished words from your heart. June

I @MarkHamill this post!
Well done, young Jedi.
Yea, I wish I could call my Dad, too.
I just hope he was as proud of his kids as I am of mine...
Thanks, Rodger, you did good.
You, too, Amee. Thanks.
Lovely.

Beautiful🖤 I loved getting to know your dad a little better reading this today
Bittersweet story about missing your dad, Amee. Sorry for your loss.
My daughter and I both experienced our 1st Father’s Day without our dads.
We miss them too.
I loved reading this and picturing little Amee burying boys in manure! 😂
I love thinking about that, too! 🩷
