Trump is simply a dangerous unhinged racist, nihilistic traitor . And you really can’t debate against someone so perverse and morally bankrupt like that. Someone guilty of civil and criminal crimes, willing to inadvertently roil up a mob of middle aged Caucasian men and women to traumatize and kill US Capitol police. Someone willing to steal from our national security secrets in order to impress other wealthy nationals. Someone willing to bribe and bend the rules for themselves, including removing safeguards and regulatory agencies. I admittedly can’t watch these ridiculous comparisons between someone who was worked too hard by his staffers and needs accommodation for his stuttering and and sadistic and outright dangerous nihilist.

I am sticking with our Democratic candidate, obviously. His performance last night was disappointing, but his grasp of the facts and the figures was indisputable. Biden knows what needs to be done, and he's eminently capable of getting it done. Anyone moaning about his supposed "confusion" doesn't understand how hard it is for a lifelong stutterer to be able to spit stuff out in a split second. That's not confusion, that's trying to ensure that what comes out is what was intended.

In other words, everyone needs to chill... it's a long time 'til November.

What’s the polite way to address a Nazi, fascist, racist, rapist, criminal, insurrectionist traitor in a debate? “I’m sorry, I don’t speak white trash.”

There is absolutely no way the tRump will get my vote but Mr President act and speak like the president. I’ll agree that your prep team failed you. Fire all of them. If we can’t start over with Governor Gretchen Whiter or some young, vibrant and strong, President Joe needs to step up. Play your record over and over and gRumps failed economy over and over!

Trump told every one of his lies since 2015 - and just strung them all together - even if they were not related. This was not a debate - cause you can't debate lies.

Everything you say is right Amee, but it wasn’t about we who believe and understand Debating, it’s about the millions who watched , who are undecided , and the trump faithful. Democratics always do this. President Biden was sick last night, unfortunately that threw him off his game and it would been better to call it off than let him go on . Take a hit on that and reschedule than what we witnessed. The “ debate” was supposed to be about performance, accomplishments, and vision , President Biden failed to deliver so did Mr.trump. You can do everything right, but there is that one off day everybody remembers you by . This is human nature for people who do t know President Biden. Jake Trapper and Dana Bash have are no longer journalists in my mind. They lost all credibility anoter CNN 100 million dollar Fubar

Absolutely agree that on substance Biden had him beat. Trump is completely and utterly full of shit, the man is incapable of serious policy discussion and speaks in hyperbole like a 3rd grader. With that said, we always knew this was Biden's debate to lose rather than Trump's to win. The bar was low for that compulsive liar with no grasp of history or policy, nobody expected much from him. Biden, on the other hand, needed to prove he was not too old for the job and was still capable enough to handle the demands of the most demanding job on earth for another 4 years. He failed spectacularly. Cold, over-prepped, whatever, the fact remains he looked lost, incoherent and just plain old out there. We'll know in the next few weeks how our idiot electorate thinks about this debate but if the polling widens in Trump's favor then we need a serious discussion about an open convention.

I jointed Dan Rather’s “Steady” chat in real time last night. I had a number of comments and read what others said. I wish members of Biden’s team had joined. First, Biden needed to slow down and be less wordy. He was, clearly, struggling to keep from stuttering. When he couldn’t say a word, he had to stop and, sometimes, choose other words. To a lot of people that looked like he was losing his train of thought. He wasn’t. Second, Biden should make short and pithy rehearsed statements. This is his weakest point. He needs to connect with the audience on TV, not read a list. Third, unless he’s reacting to an insult about his family, Biden shouldn’t even try to address Trump’s personal insults (like he did regarding golf). Fourth, Biden needs to be rested. Biden is an engaging person and his team failed him miserably, both in his placement on the podium, when he appeared that he was looking away from us, to the prepared statements, to not coaching him that the most important thing of all is to stay calm and counter what Trump is saying with short statements. And, there’s the effect of Covid on the economy. Biden became president during one of the worst pandemics in our history. The economy was tanking, people were suffering, Trump had just caused irreparable harm by trying to ignore the pandemic. Trump came into office and rode on Obama’s strong economy. Biden pulled us back from the brink. It isn’t Biden that failed as much as whoever prepared him for this. I’m so angry. And, the fact that people said Trump “won” is nauseating. Did he do what he came to do? Yes. Had this been an actual debate, would he have won? Not on your life. Pretty much nothing he said was true. So, President Biden - don’t call Trump a liar, show us that he’s lying. Biden’s team: Have your candidate play to his strengths.
