I spent all of yesterday morning watching the Pete Hegseth confirmation hearing by the Senate Armed Services Committee and let me tell you, it was painful.
This won’t come as a surprise, but what Hegseth and all of trump’s nominees lack is humility. I can imagine myself being offered the Secretary of Defense job. My response would be, “Thank you, it’s an honor to be nominated. But, I have no real experience in this field let alone the management skills to oversee such a massive responsibility.” Case closed and we all move on. Not for trump and his ilk. For them, it’s all about money and power. An obvious lack of qualifications doesn’t matter. It may even be a plus. Everyone has their faults, but sexual abuse, financial incompetence and zero experience are subject to instant disqualification. I fear for the shape of things to come.
I watched the whole thing, then took a shower. Jack Reed is my Senator a West Point Graduate, and Retired with the Rank of Major. He was also the Chair of this Committee and is a neighbor. That said Wicker treated all the Democratic’s on the panels like irritating flies . This was a bag job. Pete Hegseth will be confirmed and his love of lethality will drag us into a war.
I am old and he is a drunk, serial abuser Jodi g behind Christian Nationalism, he found god like I weigh 125 lbs and have no gray hair. The younger generations better move and move fast because we have been here before . He is not only not qualified he is an unctuous human being
Surprised no one asked Hegseth about how he would have advised JFK on how to handle the Cuban Missile Crisis. Would Hegseth be like the other military hawks and said to attack, or would he use a much cooler head? I feel Hegseth because of his lack of leadership and involvement in diplomatic affairs will lead us into WW3
Contacting senators very difficult would be great if resources available to simplify. 1) I wrote email to all 27 members of the armed services committee. Almost all sent automated message back that since I am not in their state they will not pay attention to message, 2) phone number in article is Capitol switchboard. Also tough to find current list of senate committee memberships. If we want to do the work to contact senators we need better tools.

Which one is the lesser of two evils? beer boy brett threatened Congress and the nation during his confirmation hearings. Please recall his statement - “Just remember, what goes around comes around”. At least petey did not use those words.
It’s time everyone realized that Trump is intentionally picking incompetence in order to destroy the United States.
Trump’s agenda is to have dictatorship aligned with Russia and fascist countries rule the world.
He is intentionally enfeebling the United States and has no intention of creating a government that is strong.
