This goes to a point I have made again and again: Republicans LONG before Democrats recognized the oversized role that courts play in our society, so decades ago, they began to reshape the judiciary in their image. That is why the current Democrat control of the Senate is so important. President Biden needs to fill every single vacancy in the federal court system. I hate to say that policy does not matter between now and 2024, but to a degree, that's almost the way I feel at this point. The House is going to be a complete sh-t show for the next two years. We will see nothing of substance from it, only pointless investigations, idiotic bills that have zero chance of passing or surviving a veto, and brinksmanship with respect to the debt ceiling. So, F the house, to be blunt. Focus on confirming judges. That should be priority number one, number two, number three, number four, etc., etc.

Oh, and with respect to citizen petitions, such as the one that was so successful in Kansas, we can already see that the Republicans are now changing the rules there as well, now arguing that any such initiatives "must" reach 60% to be approved. When you combine that with the constant voter suppression efforts, they are gaming this system as well.
