Some things are so difficult and overwhelming that you don't even have a sense of where you should start. When this happens the best thing to do is always start at the beginning.
Needless to say, Ogles expressed his "thoughts and prayers" after this latest horror. Pardon the harshness and profanity within this response, but that's all the Republicans do whenever there is yet another mass shooting--they offer their useless, pathetic "thoughts and prayers", and then they call for MORE guns. That's their solution to everything. More f'ing guns. This country is the only one on the planet where these types of mass shootings happen with such mind-numbing regularity that we barely notice them anymore, and the only "civilized" democracy where guns outnumber people, and yet these a--holes want to solve these problems with even more guns. It is horrifying and infuriating. Thanks for not giving up, Amee.
I live in RI , born , bred Quirky. I have lived many other places but this is home. It was founded quite literally on Tolerance. We have the first Synagogue in America late 1600’s. Our Demographics are diverse.we remain the most Catholic state in the United States yet Roe is codified in our State Constitution. Legal weed just passed go figure.
More importantly we have very strict gun laws. We were the first to close the boyfriend loophole in obtaining a gun.
Yesterday , five major Public HS in the state had gun hoaxes called into them, after the Nashville shootings .
So now there is a generation of kids / grownups who think it’s just like pulling the fire alarm was in the past .
In January over 2,600 Gun liscences were issued in RI.
To me the very beginning are the words “ a well regulated militia” but the sportsman in Scalia screwed us on that.
This issue and this issue alone has driven AMERICA off the Cliff.
I believe we cannot “ climb this mountain or ford this stream of blood” I literally ache for these kids ,my kids growing up with this fear.
I started law school in my mid-40's and in my first contract class we started way back at the start. In fact, I had done my reading but never realized that the short paragraph that began that chapter was a case. Yes, I got called on (last name starts with a B) and I looked up - bewildered - about the question and answered, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize that paragraph was a case." He mocked me - but he never caught me bewildered again. Remember "The Hairy Hand"?
