First of all, good luck with the adoption process! Second, I wish you luck with your aunt. Sending positive vibes and calming energy (Is there such a thing? If not, there should be!) in your direction.

i am going through a similar situation with my youngest Brother. Since we were brought up by the same parents and were totally Liberal in our upbringing; it is astounding that he is so ignorant. He has not acknowledged a new niece or come to any family events. There is a wedding in September; with the same requirements..who knows? The "wasband" (the ex husband,)and his family are the same bigoted ignorant types. Luckily; i raised my kids to be intelligent. (one listens to quack radio commentator who discouraged the vaccine.) That is not going over well either.

Dear Amy, an old Mormon Elder told me fifty years ago when I first moved to Las Vegas, Freddy always remember, " The Masses Are The Asses ", that's who The Clock Orange Man appeals to, all the Assholes, keep up the good work, we love you.

How can you leave us hanging like that?? This is like waiting a month to find out what happened to Little Nell! 😱

My heart breaks just a little hearing about this family rift, but no one understands better than I how healthy it is to cut toxic people from your life. From a best friend since 1984 to my youngest brother, I am so much healthier releasing myself from their burdensome calls and complaints. Supporting Trump and parroting sick conspiracy theories is my rubicon. Sending warm hugs and strength to you and Mama across the miles. Look ahead to the future, not to the past. 😘😘😘

I guess it must be a long time since the last wedding I attended. I’m a bit lost. Is she really expecting no one to attend?

As your distant family, i just want to say i love you long lost sister, Vanderpools need to unite together, our clan is lush and vibrant with history and we are one of the largest families in the USA, we also carry a lot of local power in the Pennsylvania sect through business, land, and politics. Youre a part of a grand family my dear and i love you. And as all Vanderpools are, i see you are very strong willed and free minded with positive ideologies which is relieving to see, i love you distant sister

I think my story may be slightly worse. Nearly all of my 7 siblings and most of my cousins are pro-trump anti-vaxxers. I have heard that pedophile nonsense from a "friend" whom I have finally cut out of my life! I almost never talk to any of family and actually I feel much better.

Wow. My story is similar. I haven’t talked to either my trump loving widowed mother-in-law since December 2020 or my Faux Gnus brainwashed youngest sister (she just turned 50) since January 6th. Both believe the election was stolen. Both keep Faux Gnus on all the time. It’s all they watch. My sister’s teenage daughter had to beg my sister to get vaccinated. She wasn’t going to do it. It’s hard when the children have more sense than their parents.

I have mixed feelings about trying to get back in contact. How do I reconcile with them when the man and the warped party they worship is against everything that defines my adult child who identifies as gender fluid?
