Newly revealed financial disclosures show that Louis DeJoy, the controversial recent Postmaster General appointee, who has implemented changes at the Postal Service to intentionally slow service just before the election, continues to hold multi-million dollar financial investments in companies that create substantial conflicts of interest.
This is a first-level fascist tactic: make it hard, very hard, or almost impossible for people to vote because you know the vote is going to toss your ass to the street.
What's happened - what's been allowed to happen by congressional Republicans - to politics, to social comity under trumputin is unprecedented in US history and we are still months away from elections and months away after that with the potentially catastrophic consequences of the presidential election, regardless of who wins.
I'm 73 years old. These next several months will be the most difficult in every respect of my life. The events of assassinations, political crimes, anti-war fervor and protests are nothing compared to the wholesale destruction - deconstruction if you will - of every single pillar of society, culture, politics, mores, education, health care, information technology, religion that, fragile as they clearly have been shown to be, supported US daily life.
If trumputin is re-elected or manages to illegally remain in office, the next step is anarchy - and it won't be coming from the right; it will be coming from liberals like me.
You'd have had to have been a damned fool to have ever bought into Trump's "I have the best people" rubbish, but does anyone else remember a time when people appointed to key roles within our government were thoroughly vetted for competence, integrity, & a standard of ethics?
