I can relate to so much you have written about your illness. I suspect that my 17-yo son and I had COVID-19 in late January. (His flu test was negative; I did not have one.) We were both severely ill, sicker than we'd ever been; he's a highly conditioned, elite sprinter, and at the age of 61, I have zero medical issues and take no prescriptions. Also, we both developed secondary illnesses: my son had a raging sinus infection, and I had pneumonia. I am eager for us both to be tested for antibodies when a test is available. Wishing you godspeed and good health very soon.
You have been remarkable throughout this entire ordeal. Thank you for pushing through your great discomfort to keep us informed. Wishing you WELL, Amee!
Amee I truly wish you were in the hospital with someone to care for you. The thought of you being alone worries me. I know you say you’re ok with it but... I can’t imagine. I’m so very thankful for you and hate the thought of losing you to this or anything else. ❤️
Thank you for sharing your experiences. Last Ict I caught a cold that migrated to my chest and never went away. I’ve never had lung issues before. I had sinus surgery 4 weeks ago. Exercise still leaves me gasping. It’s scary. I have a steroid inhaler that helps. I think I’m getting better but it’s depressing. I can only imagine what catching this virus is like. I honestly don’t know I could fight it off right if I did.
Amee, I’m glad you’re on antibiotics! I think you’re correct about this virus being here longer. My brother in FL was extremely ill the month of January and tested negative for flu. He could barely get out of bed, fever, dry cough; I think he had undiagnosed COVID. He did recover, though, so maybe not; he’s immunocompromised, has one working lung and chronic heart failure, so I *think COVID would have taken him out.
This is a hard read but so appreciated. I've had pneumonia - called a minor case - and I know how difficult that was. I agree that sharing this experience, all of it, is very important, for us and for you. I'm hoping you finally turn the corner to health very soon.
Thank you again for your account of this! Very helpful. I so relate to the - I don’t want to say this out loud part. I think a lot of people are unsure as to when to go to the ER, it seems like you do - thank goodness you have a good dr. You are in touch with.
Hoping that these secondary infections respond well to the treatment, and soon. Your input on focused breathing to push through that difficulty will be invaluable to those who confront this.
Anyone I know that isn't taking this seriously, I send them to your blog. This isn't just another flu. Take care of yourself, good luck getting your Rx very soon, and let the housework go! It's really not worth your health. xo

Sending good thoughts. Build something with your Legos, no cleaning 🏩❤
Be well Amy, take care!
Sorry, I meant Amee.

PS I have all my Disney movie vinyls as well!
Have you seen the "long hot showers" advice? To keep lungs moist and dislodge phlegm. Hoping you are getting all kinds of REST. And nutrition.
Thank you for sharing your struggle. Please do whatever is necessary to get better. The world needs you now more than ever. ❤️
You are and have been in my thoughts and prayers. Happy Easter to you
Wishing you a smooth recovery!!
