DAY 6: Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in. The last few days have been difficult. I felt like I was turning a corner on this virus on Day 3 slightly and then by Day 4 I was knocked flat. Keep in mind that I am using these day counts to give you some kind of reference to what I am talking about, but it is very likely that Day 4 could really be Day 7 or 11 for all I know. I have still not been tested. I have not had the physical strength to go to a drive thru location and at this point, I feel like they will have the test for the antibodies ready as soon as the actual test for the virus, so why risk anyone else.
Praying for you! Pulse oximeter is better than peak flow meter for some things (expiratory volumes). When I’m sick, I use both. Keep a diary. Track your numbers by date and time, so You can SEE trends. Asthma seems to be the worst (for many) between 3-5 AM. 🙏🏻
How you’ve mustered the strength to write today is a testament to your character, Amee. Thanks so much for your update. Hang in there, hon. You’ve got this. 💙
Thank you for posting about this. Your updates are keeping me sane as I am having so many of the same symptoms. I thought on Tuesday I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. But late Wednesday, the cough and sore throat were back. I still can’t get tested but my husband who is 60 and has Parkinson’s will get tested if his symptoms worsen or he develops a fever. Unfortunately, our thermometer and backup thermometer both died yesterday afternoon. Whatever this is, it really sucks.
It is a testament, to your strength, that you are able to post. It could also be a journal for researchers. I can not believe there are still those not taking this seriously. Thinking of you. ❤🙏
Thank you for keeping us up to date in your symptoms. It helps us understand how this virus progresses even though everyone is a little different. Take care of yourself and sounds like you are. Rooting for you and a swift recovery. ♡♡
I'm asthmatic, so I know what it's like to wake up with that inhaler right next to you after only a half-hour of sleep. Hope you turn the corner soon and can look back at all this with a clearer mind. 💚
Thank you, Amee, for having the strength to share your story. I really hope you'll have some relief soon. Wish I had any useful advice--just thinking of you.
I'm glad to have found your post. My Day 1 is March 19 when I started running a fever and decided to sleep in a different room than my husband. I had been coughing for over a week, but the cough had become much more severe around the 13th and 14th. The cough got a bit better, but I was very fatigued the days leading up to the 19th. I attributed it all to allergies as the pollen was very thick at the time and everybody around me was coughing and saying the same thing. Along with the low-grade fever came a quivering sensation throughout my body. Sometimes I would have a random sharp pain in various places throughout my body. I have had headache, diarrhea (3 episodes), fatigue and the type of malaise where I feel like I just want to melt into the floor. Today is Day 7 of isolation and it is really wearing on me. I did get a test on Monday, but it was after a negative flu and then a negative Respiratory Panel. I am still awaiting the results. After being fever-free for three days, tonight it has started creeping back up to 99.9. At this point, what good is a test if it takes a week to get results?
Thank you so much for sharing this. I really appreciate it, there is an overwhelming amount of info out there and your personal accounting of it is clarifying - well, as you always are. Sending love vibes for your quick recovery!
Thanks for writing about this. Your writing has helped to keep me sane. I have what is probably a mild case of the virus: a mild fever on day one, intermittent sore throat, and mild breathing problems that appear to be resolved.
Am I at the beginning or end of my isolation period? It's hard to know what to look out for since I can't go to a doctor. By my estimation I'm on day 7.
Take care, Amee. I'll continue reading your story and keeping you in my thoughts.
Just make sure you are careful with those packages. My boss is using his garage as an airlock and leaving stuff for 3 days or a week, to be safe. My friend posted this video, from a doctor, and it's a really good guide on unpacking and sanitizing things you get, whether groceries or takeout. Applies to packages too. https://youtu.be/sjDuwc9KBps

Sending my absolute best your way once again, Amee. Believe me, I am asthmatic too, so this thing has me pretty scared.
Take care of yourself.
Your posts are invaluable.
I feel you’re helping us all so that we can better prepare not if ...but when this hits us.
It’s so discouraging to see how long this thing lasts and how much physical, emotional and mental strength you need to endure through this process.
Wishing you all the best.
