I got so pissed off yesterday watching guys like Cruz and Cornyn and the rest of the “boy’s club”step up to the mic and stroke each other and the room with fake empathy I had to respond while watching:

“@SenTedCruz speaks of how proud TEXAS is of these women.

REALLY, how can you say that with a straight face? Had Nassar impregnated these women TEXAS would force them to carry his child.

HYPOCRITE”

“@POTUS please FIRE Director Wray.

I’m tired of hearing apologies for the FBI’s failure to do ANYTHING over the last 10 years that deserves the faith of the American people.

We’re tired of their behavior adversely affecting justice for the citizens.”

Their COMPLETE lack of empathy is DISGUSTING to me!

Forget about lunatics like Nicki Minaj. It's these brave young women that need to be invited to the White House & have their concerns addressed directly by the Biden administration. The FBI failed them as badly as it failed Dr. Ford. Wray & all others involved need to be held accountable.

Not only has the FBI failed these girls, but society, as a whole, has failed several GENERATIONS of girls. *I* was failed during the "Good Ol' Boy" era, when no one would truly give credence to allegations of rape or other sexual abuse. My daughter was failed, and is still failed now, during what I call the "If you have sex, you're a pervert" era. We've gone so darn far back on women's rights lately, I think I can see my Great-Grandmother's era coming 'round again!

I'm especially outraged now, at the declining years of my life, by the failures that have occurred throughout my life. No one should have to go through what I went through and wonder if it truly was their own fault. No one should have to have multiple encounters with law enforcement subsequent to abusive situations and wonder if what happened really *wasn't* that bad. No one should have to sit here, today, and be triggered back to crap like that because of what's STILL happening.

It is well past time for a reckoning in this country, and we might as well start with that "Good Ol' Boy" bastion, the FBI.

I was bowled over by the bravery and power of the four gymnasts as they testified regarding the horrors to which they were subjected by that evil creep and then as they were confronted by what can at best be described as utter indifference by the FBI. Bob Alessi stole my thunder about the Republican Senators. They are contemptible and their "outrage" was clearly calculated. They hate women and their support is only for show.

I agree with your take on this.

I live in a suburb of Boston. Our biggest circulation paper is The Boston Globe. The only mention today of the Senate Judiciary Hearing, and the stunning testimony from the Olympian gymnasts?

A single column on Page C6, titled, "Biles blasts FBI's handling of Nassar case." The article was inconclusive, and reads like a gripe session.

The Globe inserted in the third section (Sports), and six pages in. The only way they could have buried it deeper was to list it with the Obituaries or the Comics. Which in a way, I guess sort of fits, as women's rights always seem to be taken lightly or laughed off, and we all know they'd be deep-sixed if the X-challenged chromosomal aberrations could figure out how to do it once and for all.

Several readers have questioned the article placement, as well as its focus. But we're on life-support.
