Thanks for posting this. I am sorry you are still experiencing symptoms but it does make me feel less alone. I have tested negative and when I tell people, I feel like they are dismissive of the fact that I'm still really sick after almost 3 months. I don't cough much. My main symptoms are shortness of breath, tightness in my chest, and sharp pains between my shoulders. I have also occasionally had redness and pain inside my nose and what feels like sinus pain. I finally got an antibody test and will post the result. For me, I feel that if I don't have Covid-19, what the heck is going on? I was healthy before. I could teach a class for an hour and not be out of breath. I could sing and dance. I'm sorry to complain. I know others are much worse off. I am mostly happy getting to work from home and spend time with my family. I just want to breathe freely again. Thanks for this forum.
Thank you for the update! You havenโt posted about it for awhile about this and I have been dying for an update. I am so glad you are doing well. What a scary story you tell. But also encouraging...
I have had for 2 months an issue where it hurts when I breathe, sometimes my chest hurts. I get really tired on an easy long walk. Itโs not super painful but it feels like I am breathing on a smoggy day in LA or when you climb a higher altitude too quickly. It varies day to day and I never have other covid symptoms. For a week I coughed a lot and lost my voice. My doc has always thought I had a mild case of covid and am suffering the after effects. One antibody test was negative. I took another more reliable one and find out the results on Friday. All that to say, hearing you talk about the ongoing symptoms makes me wonder if I really did have it. I keep wondering - in the middle of a pandemic related to lung issues I have this lung thing? I have never had any lung issues before.
Did you ever get an antibody test?
Thanks again Amee. So glad you are better and recovering.
I appreciate the follow-up. This is what I expected, though not happy to know that I'm right for once. Plan on 6 to 8 months and you should be good to go. Maybe less because you are younger so healing happens faster.
Sending all of the positive energy I can muster in your direction, Amee. I am glad that you are better, but saddened that you are still experiencing symptoms. Keep fighting; we are behind and with you!
I became sick around the same time you did and never was able to get a test. I did get an antibody test a few weeks ago from Quest Diagnostics and it was "negative". Cannot believe that considering how sick I was. Pneumonia, severe coughing, high temperatures, convulsion and no sense of smell. I could buy that maybe I just had the flu, but I've never lost my sense of smell. It still hasn't completely come back. At least my taste buds know I'm eating peanut butter but I can't smell it.
Except for that I'm mostly OK although still tired. I didn't have asthma though. That must be very scary. Please continue to post on your progress. I feel like going to another lab to get tested for antibodies but at this point not certain it matters. Will continue to act like I have none and take all the precautions I normally would.
A friend of mine over a year ago had a terrible flu where she has lost her sense of smell completely and permanently. This happened a year prior to covid. Just wanted you to know that kind of thing is out there ; )
My friend has had so many weird experiences. Mostly she canโt taste anything but when she can things taste terrible, like burnt garlic. Itโs changed her diet. Hopefully you will recover over time!
Glad you're feeling better and so sorry you're still experiencing symptoms. Thank you for keeping us up-to-date on so much and thank you, also, for this forum.
I am sorry you contracted it and sorry the lingering effects are so difficult. I hope you are back to healthy soon.
I've been reading about longer-term effects of this disease and they make me more committed to protecting myself...it's hard to believe we are not getting federal leadership in any way on this nationwide contamination.
Amee. So grateful to hear that youโre on the mend (however slowly that may be.) You have been such a trooper through this ordeal. If it's even possible, my admiration for you has increased. I'm wishing you all the best, Amee. Please take care of yourself.
You mentioned a horrible cough I had whooping cough a few years ago at the age of 60! Yes it sounds horrific and even when you laugh it sounds painful but isnโt so much. It took my dr and allergists a full month to figure out what it was I stayed away from everyone until I knew what it was and it took a few prescriptions. I wonder if this is part of the Covid now. Wishing you much better health in the days coming.
Very sorry I wasnยดt aware of your situation. The way you keep on on working I never suspected that. All the best wishes. I wish I could do anything for for you, but from 5000 miles away thatยดs difficult.
The exhaustion is the worst! About 6 weeks out and itโs got me beat... I was working 18-20 hours a day, Iโm flipping a house by myself... I get exhausted now still just cleaning a window... cheese grater lungs was a good description I completely understand that sound! Thank you for your story.. nice to know there are others of us out there..
I am *SO* glad you posted about feeling better I have been wondering how youโve been but didnโt want to bother you with questions. Iโm certain you field plenty on a daily basis & I wanted to afford you privacy if you needed it.
Thank you for taking the time to update us. I hope you begin a speedy recovery of the remaining issues. And thank you for continuing to keep up your posts through it all. โค๏ธโค๏ธ

I had a negative test three weeks out and I have no doubt I had COVID-19-I feel you.
Yes, and they say the antibody tests through Quest may not be reliable. Still, I'll post my result. Feel better.

I have not gotten an anti-body test but I am on a list for a possible trial and I hope I get to participate with that.
Thank you for the update! I am so sorry you're still dealing with symptoms. I keep you in my prayers.โค

I would question the reliability of that anti-body test.

Thank you. That's so bizarre. I have burned a few meals so know now I can't walk out of the kitchen when cooking, where I could before.

Thankful for your recovery! How were you able to get tested to determine it was COVID-19?
