I'm not certain of many things, but this Judge's past can lead us to only one conclusion, and that is that he will do whatever he can from a legal standpoint to restrict/eliminate access to this medication in as any places and in as many ways as he possibly can. The ultra-conservative Fifth Circuit will almost certainly affirm whatever he does. Then, it will go to the Supreme Court. We all know what the Dobbs decision said. Anyone want to take bets on which way the Supreme Court will go when this issue inevitably presents itself before the High Court?

It’s hard enough to practice ethical medicine in a society with so few protections for marginalized people. The law continues to make it harder to do the right thing for patients.

The good ol' USA is rapidly becoming a third world country ruled by an unelected cabal of religious mullahs. The cons played a long game and won, and the Dems still stand there with their hands down their pants acting like they never saw it coming and can do nothing now. The whole system is rotten to the core. The Dems should be out there making a lot of noise about these Trump judges and their ideology. Why has no Dem entered articles of impeachment for the Trump judges who were deemed UNFIT by their own ABA? Why is there no bills to revamp the Supremes? Why is Biden not using his bully pulpit to beat up on the rigged judiciary? As long as the Dems keep playing this sorry ass game that somewhere in the middle is common ground we can all agree on then the cons will continue to burn this country down to the ground. Fairly soon nobody will have any rights left.

Trump might as well have appointed a conservative Roman Catholic cardinal to this position as there is ample evidence that Kacsmaryk has always been anti-abortion, as well as homophobic and anti-LGBTQ+ in general. When do the photos come out of him in black face pop up? I'd be underwhelmed if they did. This incredible situation where a one-judge federal appeals court can ban an FDA-approved drug, one whose approval was, despite lies about it, not rushed through, as far as I know. I think its approval took years.

Women in the United States are being crushed from all sides by enraged Christian extremists and nothing seems capable of stopping them. Decades of progress are being torn down. It's beyond sad; it's the course that authoritarianism typically takes.
