The Democrats are now learning very painfully that their lack of attention to the federal courts when they controlled the Presidency and the Senate will prove to be extremely costly to us all. And lest anyone think that conservatives will be content to see Roe v. Wade overturned, a lot of those federal judges that have been appointed by the “President” are in blue states. They’ll be coming after abortion here, too.

I had to do alot of reading before deciding my lack of support for Ms. Barrett. First of all, this is the first time I've heard religion with respect to the nominee. I became cross-eyed when I read about the "People of Praise." Where is ethics? Like you said in your article,..."it is about codifying their religious beliefs and imposing them on this entire country." It has always been my thinking the Supreme Court decisions are based in ethics, not in our personal daily lives. I'm not a lawyer.This is my layman's interpretation.

I like what Abraham Lincoln said about the Supreme Court:

"[I]f the policy of the government, upon vital questions, affecting the whole people, is to be irrevocably fixed by decisions of the Supreme Court, the instant they are made . . . the people will have ceased, to be their own rulers, having, to that extent, practically resigned their government, into the hands of that eminent tribunal."

I then considered this is a Trump government. I sincerely believe his desire to overturn Roe vs Wade is 'I did it. People have tried to overturn it for a 100 years. I did it. Praise me...etc.,etc. In other words, it is only for Trump and his desire for domination. I assume Lindsey Graham is still head of the Judiciary which should automatically disqualify the whole confirmation. The real kicker is doing a confirmation before the election. And it's simply to win the election; politicizing the

SCOTUS confirmation.

It is much too late to get loud. Just what will getting load accomplish at this point? Do you honestly think the Republicans will listen or care? The extraordinarily successful Republican efforts to hold on to power as a minority party have allowed them to turn the judiciary into a rigidly conservative branch of government. The fact that they can nominate and confirm someone with such bizarre beliefs this close to an election should tell you all you need to know about their thinking.

Either Snopes or Politifact have written that the designations of "handmaid" and "head" are no longer used but, be that as it may, Democrats need to stay away from attacking her on *any* of her religious convictions or they will get *owned* by the right-wing media and may very well cost us votes in the upcoming election.

Democrats must deal with the fact that they're in a no-win situation and restrain themselves from grandstanding and doing *anything* that could be construed as religiously discriminatory. They must stick to critiquing her judicial record not be seen as attacking her personally.

I’m too sickened at the prospect this cult member is being used by a criminal enterprise to lay the final blow to our democracy. I can’t figure out HOW she was ever confirmed to her LAST bench.

I’m sick of going high. Enough of this, Nancy will have to file the impeachment charges against William Barr. THAT will effectively stop ALL of this dead in it’s tracks. There is AMPLE EVIDENCE he has abandoned his oath of office, and corrupted the entirety of the Justice Department.

Stop playing, DO something. I will be calling my representatives, but this is down to the House, it’s past time they brought the full force of their power down on this mess.
